I'm Eli. I direct product at Unraid, the operating system behind hundreds of thousands of home servers, homelabs, and small-business storage boxes, and I manage the team of engineers who build it. That covers most of the product: the OS people use day to day, the accounts and licensing behind it, remote access, the app ecosystem, the release calendar, and the roadmap that ties them together — plus hiring, growing, and supporting the team. I came up through engineering, and I still read and write code; it's usually the quickest way to understand a decision.

The rest of my time splits between the mountains and the garage. Most of these photos are the Scottish Highlands — I hike, I chase weather windows, and I fly the drone that shot the Glen Coe footage at the top of this page. Back home it's a Gulf-liveried Porsche Cayman (number 42, because the answer to most questions is a good drive) and a desk with calipers on it, where I design parametric hardware in OpenSCAD for my homelab.
What I've shipped
Migrating 70,000+ users onto a relaunched account platform. Open-sourcing the Unraid API and shipping it in Unraid OS 7.2 with SSO and OIDC sign-in. The tunneled GraphQL architecture that lets our cloud talk to tens of thousands of user-owned servers without treating them as public APIs. Rebuilding the Community Apps backend on Cloudflare Workers. And helping the team use AI in planning and reviews.
How I work
In a given month I might sharpen a roadmap, write a Vue or React component, design a GraphQL schema, debug a Cloudflare Worker, and tune the Terraform under it — product strategy through to production infrastructure. A lot of the real product decisions sit in that range. On the leadership side, the part I care about is making things visible: clear goals, KPIs that mean something, and review habits that surface bad news early.
